Angelina Odevilas Certificate III Data and Voice Communications Trained by Apex communications Employed by ATEC A former factory worker at Holden, Angelina Odevilas knew she was on limited time before she lost her job. Through study and hard work, she was able to secure an adult apprenticeship and is now a fourth-year data and voice apprentice with ATEC Group Training. Angelina’s goals for the future are to buy her first home and do some travelling.

Laura Pivovaroff Certificate III in Jewellery Manufacture Trained by TAFE SA Employed by Wishart Jewellers Laura Pivovaroff works at Wishart Jewellers after completing an apprenticeship as a manufacturing jeweller. Inspired by her love for the jewellery industry, she has since expanded her knowledge by completing a Diploma in Gemology and became a national award winner. Through her work experience, she has found her perfect balance of creative and tactile skills through jewellery manufacture. Laura credits her apprenticeship with helping her to secure her career, and she plans to explore as many facets of the jewellery industry as she can, and to produce high quality jewellery to be cherished for generations to come.

Max Miegel Certificate III in Agriculture Attends Urrbrae Agricultural High School Trained by Regional Skills Training Employed by IL & JA Mueller At 17 years old, Max Miegel is living his dream to pursue what he loves and follow an agricultural pathway. He attends Urrbrae Agricultural High School and is completing an Australian School-Based Apprenticeship in Agriculture while working on a dairy farm. Max enjoys hands-on learning and is grateful for the career opportunities his apprenticeship has provided him with. He has a driving passion for farming, and plans to continue his learning and eventually start his own farm.

Sandy Beaton Certificate lll in Business Administration Trained by TAFE SA Employed by Rural City of Murray Bridge Sandy Beaton has completed a Certificate III in Business Administration and is now undertaking her Certificate IV. During her traineeship with the Rural City of Murray Bridge, Sandy has demonstrated exceptional organisational and communication skills while working across a variety of departments, with a focus on volunteer management. Sandy plans to go on to study at university and pursue a career in business. Having experienced mental health issues and living independently since she was 16, Sandy hopes to be a positive role model for other young people facing mental health issues.

Rachelle Boyle Advanced Diploma of Event Management Trained by TAFE SA Employed by All Occasions Group Rachelle Boyle has harnessed her creativity and organisational skills to pursue a career in event management. Rachelle's studies at TAFE SA took her to Melbourne to represent the state at AIME with the Convention Bureau. She was involved in managing a runway event for Adelaide Fashion Week and has interned for a number of organisations. Rachelle is employed by All Occasions Group and juggles work with study as she completes an Advanced Diploma of Event Management at TAFE SA.

		Michael Jenkinson Employed by Christies Beach High School Michael Jenkinson’s lifelong love of nature and his passion for the environment and conservation issues led him to a career in education. He manages the science laboratories and runs a VET course in conservation and land management at Christies Beach High School. Michael is thrilled to be able to combine his twin passions for nature and education into a fulfilling career, and is committed to guiding the next generation to do their bit to save the planet.

Industry Collaboration Award

Name of Collaboration: Murraylands Food Alliance (MFA) Jobs 4 Murraylands

Murraylands Food Alliance members were calling out for skilled and motivated local workers to help them grow their businesses. In response, RDA Murraylands and Riverland collaborated with the MFA to develop Jobs 4 Murraylands, an innovative pre-employment program for people looking for work in the food industry.

The accredited and non-accredited training is tailored to meet the needs of MFA businesses, and participants receive a gym membership to physically prepare them for work demands, along with receive intensive one-on-one mentoring to help them overcome any individual employment barriers. At the end of the program participants are connected directly with employers based on their aptitudes
