Have your say on how funding for skills and training can be aligned with your workforce priorities.

As part of the State Government’s Skilling South Australia initiative, Industry Skills Councils (ISCs) have been established to strengthen industry’s voice in skills and workforce development, and to ensure that funding for skills and training is directly aligned to industry priorities.

Following a revitalisation of the Training and Skills Commission the Government has appointed Chairs for each ISC and an expression of interest is now open for additional members.

Members will provide an important link to help realise the Skilling South Australia initiative to create 20,800 apprentices and trainees over the next four years.

People from industry, businesses, peak bodies and the public can now nominate for the following industry sectors:

  • Agribusiness
  • Construction, Mining & Energy
  • Defence, Aerospace, IT and Cybersecurity
  • Health, Disability, Aged Care & Community Services
  • Transport & Manufacturing
  • Education & Service Sector
  • Creative Industries, Business & Digital Platforms
  • Food, Wine, Tourism & Hospitality

Following endorsement of their appointment, a full-day planning session is scheduled for Friday 1 March 2019. It is critical that all ISC members are available to attend this event.
