South Australia’s Industry Priority Qualifications
The Final Report on South Australia’s Industry Priority Qualifications details the findings of a survey which included 850 respondents representing employers, unions, training providers, industry groups and individual stakeholders. The Training and Skills Commission’s industry-led approach also included over 800 hours of consultation activity. This comprehensive process of consultation resulted in the prioritisation of 1138 qualifications, skill sets and accredited courses in 5 tiers of priority across eighteen industry sectors and the broader economy.
The Commission’s report in addition to its independent economic modelling on the demand for qualifications provides advice in aligning public investment to South Australia’s future skills needs.
The IPQ Dataset contains information on the prioritisation of Qualifications, Skill Sets, Accredited Courses and Units of Competency in each of the 18 industry sectors, including where moderations based on the Commission’s methodology Industry Partner feedback has impacted on the level of priority for the Whole of Economy list (Output 2).

The Commission sought feedback on the Interim Report for three months prior to the release of the Final Report.
